  • How big does my base need to be?
Garden room bases are usually the same size as the building. Garage bases are usually 50mm bigger all round, with the brick course set in from the edge by 50mm.
  • Can I use an existing concrete base?
Yes, you can use an existing base - especially for a garage with a brick course. If it is slightly uneven, we can add more or less mortar, so that the bricks are level. If it is a garden room base, then it is likely that a skim is required on the top to create a flat and level surface. This is much cheaper than a full concrete pad.
  • How do I get a quote?
Either fill in the form online or contact by phone. We will arrange a time to visit the site when you're there, so that we can discuss the details, and what level of service you'd like a quote for. After that, we will contact you within 3 working days with a price for doing the groundwork.
  • Where do you travel to?
We will travel within 30 miles (or 1 hour) of Southam - CV47 9QL. If you are outside this location, please request a more local builder to you.
  • When do you do the groundwork?
Due to our work commitments, we do the bases at the weekends. Typically a single garage base or a garden room base will take one day to install the concrete. The brick course will be applied at least 5 days later
  • What thickness concrete do you provide?
100mm thick, C40-Concrete is quoted for on the price guide. This is suitable for single and double garages, plus garden rooms, depending on site slopes and ground conditions. We can increase the depth to 150mm if required. This can be discussed at quoting stage.
  • Do you do the brick course?
Yes - we do the brick course for garage bases within the price quoted. This will be set to the plan provided. You will have a choice of red or blue bricks with holes
  • Do you take away the soil?
Yes we do. Included in the price for the base is the provision for a skip, to take away the soil. Should you wish to save money, the spoil could be left on site for you to distribute as required.
  • I only have a side entrance - is this a problem?
Shouldn't be - we have a small digger that can travel down the side of a house which has a standard 900mm gap to the fence.
  • I only have access through the house - is this a problem?
Yes - this would be a problem. The solution for this is to have a paving slab base or a ground screw base. the ground screw base would be the best solution in this instance, as it does not require the dispersal of soil.
  • How long before the concrete sets so I can have my building?
We would recommend a week from the base completion to the arrival of the building. The concrete will be hard enough to walk on after 3 days, but the concrete will still be considered to be 'green'.
